At this time next week I’ll be packing my bags and loading them into a 2016 Toyota Camry to head to Dallas for the 2016 DFW Auto Show. I’m excited to be attending with SheBuysCars.com and Toyota and meeting up with my fellow TAWA (Texas Auto Writers Association) members!
You may remember that I own a 2010 Camry and I drove and reviewed the 2015 Toyota Camry last year. I’m pretty excited to get to try out the 2016 model. And while I love the trucks I’m reviewing and would happily drive them to Dallas I’m pretty glad I’ll have something a little more compact for Dallas parking, cause we all know parking a truck in the city can be a nightmare.
I’m always interested in the new features and technology revealed at auto shows. I know it’s been out a while now, but I’m excited to see the new Chrysler Pacifica with its on-board vacuum. I also want to check out the new Ford Explorer and Nissan Pathfinder since those are the SUV’s I have my eye on for a future purchase.
But what I’m most looking forward to are the trucks.
This week I’ll be high as a hog in mud when Nissan delivers the Titan XD SL Crew Cab 4X4 (5.0L Cummins Diesel). While I’ve driven diesels before, I’ve never received one to review. This is a BIG truck, so I’m pretty excited. The week after the auto show I’ll be driving a 2016 Frontier PRO-4X, which is smaller, but still, a truck. I’m really looking forward to connecting with the Nissan folks and learning more about these trucks at the show.
Also on my list to check out are the new Toyota Tundra and Tacoma. These are comparable to the Nissans I’m in for the next few weeks and while I already know the Tundra has stolen my heart, the Tacoma has had a major makeover since I drove one last year. It will be good to see the changes! The Chevy and GMC full and mid-size pairs are something else I’ll be paying close attention to, especially since the Colorado has been a personal favorite for a while.
Getting to attend the auto show before it is open to the public is always a treat. I enjoy the press conferences, meeting the designers and engineers, and most of all, the drives! This year SheBuysCars.com is setting up some extra special drives just for us, so be sure to follow me on Twitter [ @TexasDriveBlog ] and Instagram for on-the-spot updates!
The 2016 DFW Auto Show runs from March 16 through March 20, 2016 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (formerly the Dallas Convention Center). This is one of the most anticipated annual events in the Metroplex and one I’ve attended 4 times. I love it! The DFW Auto Show is a great opportunity for consumers to compare styling and pricing of every major line make under one roof in a single day (or two). Conceived in 1982, The DFW Auto Show boasts more than half a million square feet of new cars, trucks and SUVs.
Thanks to SheBuysCars.com I’m giving away Two (2) tickets to the DFW Auto Show. Tickets MUST be picked up in person at the auto show. Winner will be chosen and notified the evening of March 15th. Use the widget below to enter!
This post is sponsored by SheBuysCars on behalf of the DFW Auto Show and Toyota. Toyota is providing a 2016 Toyota Camry for me to drive to and from the auto show. All opinions are my own. This post is in no way sponsored by Nissan… I just happen to also be reviewing their truck this week!
